Shizuka Tatsuno Designs Harnessing Traditional Techniques

The "SHIZUKA TATSUNO MINI EXHIBITION" currently underway at Daikanyama Tsutaya Books features the debut of "HAQUA," a new line of foil accessories. Also on display and for sale are various products that imbue traditional crafts, such as "Kumihana" hair accessories made with Kyoto kumihimo, with new value through design, showcasing the artistry of craftspeople.

Tatsuno's products, which adapt the skills of artisans to contemporary lifestyles by transforming them into fashion items and homewares, are characterized by their ease of integration into daily life.

Delicate, Elegant Shine That Can Be Worn Freely

The foil accessories "HAQUA," debuting at this exhibition, are a new type of body jewelry born from a collaboration with Washin Chemical Industry, a global leader in the foil sector for cosmetic containers. The design concept is "foil (haku) + water (aqua)." Characterized by delicate and elegant designs, they emit a sophisticated radiance akin to genuine jewelry.

These simple, single-color metallic foil jewelry pieces can be worn year-round. "HAQUA" comes in sticker form, and by cutting it to the desired length, it can be transformed into various accessory types—bracelets, anklets, rings—to match your outfit or mood.

Water-resistant, "HAQUA" can last for up to a week depending on usage and season, making it ideal for active scenes like beaches, outdoor festivals, and water sports during this time of year. It can also be enjoyed by those who cannot typically wear accessories due to metal allergies. There are no restrictions on shape, placement, or occasion.

This is a rare opportunity to see a collection of Tatsuno's products, including "HAQUA." Why not stop by while you're out and about during your summer vacation?
