Reviving Bread's Flavor with Perfect Temperature Control
The BALMUDA The Toaster requires users to pour in a teaspoon (a dedicated 5cc measuring cup is included) of water before cooking. This fills the interior with steam, which then helps to retain moisture within the bread while crisping its surface. The toaster then gently heats the bread's interior to the perfect temperature before finally browning the surface. This unique steam technology and exquisite temperature control allow for toast that is crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, without burning.
Equipped with a dedicated boiler heater for steam and separate upper and lower heating elements, the toaster individually controls the temperature of each to bake bread at the optimal temperature. It first gently heats the bread to around 60°C to revive its internal softness and flavor, then raises the interior temperature to around 160°C to achieve a golden-brown crust. Finally, it rapidly increases the temperature to 220°C to finish with a fragrant, perfectly toasted slice.
In addition to the "Toast" mode optimized for standard toast, there are four other cooking modes: "Cheese Toast" for toasting bread with toppings, "French Bread" and "Croissant" modes for baking other types of bread at optimal temperatures, and a "Classic" mode for manual temperature adjustment, similar to conventional toasters. The Classic mode does not use steam and allows users to select between 300W, 600W, and 1300W for cooking.
Pre-orders are currently being accepted at the BALMUDA online store, Futako Tamagawa Tsutaya Electrics, The Conran Shop (Kitchen, Marunouchi, and other locations), and select department stores. Shipping is scheduled to begin in mid-June.
