An Anniversary Collection Steeped in a Century of History

Since its inception, Caran d'Ache has introduced innovative products such as the "Fixpencil," the precursor to the mechanical pencil, and the world's first water-soluble colored pencil, "Prismalo." All planning, design, and manufacturing are carried out in-house at their Swiss factories, adhering to stringent quality standards and bearing the SWISS MADE inscription.

The Anniversary Collection is currently available in limited quantities at Itoya stores nationwide, department stores, and other retailers. From May 20th (Wednesday), it will also be available at the newly opened flagship store, "Caran d'Ache Ginza Boutique." The five collections, embodying a century of heritage, are presented in distinctive paper packaging, inspired by the gift boxes used in the 1930s.

The "Technograph 100th Anniversary 4-Pencil Set" is a commemorative model of the "Technograph," Caran d'Ache's foundational pencil born in the 1920s. Crafted from high-quality cedarwood certified by FSC for responsible forest management, this set includes four lead grades (HB, B, 2B, 3B) selected from twelve available options, along with a sharpener.

The "Fixpencil 2mm 100th Anniversary Graphite/Color Lead Set" is a special anniversary edition of the world's first fully metal mechanical pencil with a clip, the "Fixpencil," launched in 1929, which served as the prototype for mechanical pencils. Its aluminum body features striking inch and millimeter markings.

The "Prismalo 100th Anniversary 25-Color Set" features a curated selection of 25 colors from the full range of 80 colors of Prismalo, the world's first water-soluble colored pencil introduced in 1931. The packaging, complete with an easel and inspired by past limited editions, transforms into a work of art in itself.

The "849 100th Anniversary Ballpoint Pen" is a commemorative model of the "849" line, which debuted in 1969 inspired by the silhouette of a pencil and has since featured collaborations with numerous designers. This edition is adorned with a vintage-inspired fashion, drawing inspiration from colored pencils, and features a character designed by Bon-Min.

The name "Ecridor" is a portmanteau of the French words "Ecrire" (to write) and "Or" (gold). This iconic collection, launched in 1929 and inheriting the design of the Fixpencil, is renowned for its captivating engraved patterns that play with light. The "Ecridor 100th Anniversary Chevron Ballpoint Pen" reimagines the classic chevron motif found on the standard model, enhancing its brilliance with a silver plate finished with palladium coating.
