Serge Mouille (died 1988) is known as one of the leading lighting designers of the 20th century. The brand "Editions Serge Mouille®" reproduces and develops his past lighting designs in their original dimensions, materials, and colors.

The floor lamp series "Les Colonnes / Pillars of Light" was designed with a focus on the fluorescent lights used for industrial purposes in the 1950s and 60s. While Serge Mouille is synonymous with black forms inspired by natural shapes, this series features geometric motifs such as curves, straight lines, and right angles. It is said to carry a stronger artistic meaning than functional intent. It later garnered attention in various fields and became one of his representative works.

As Serge Mouille did not wish to transition to mass production through mechanization during his lifetime, artisans continue to manufacture the products by hand. Each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity, guaranteeing it as an art piece reflecting the designer's philosophy.
