CITAA, a work-style brand, has launched "The Work Desk" on its official website. Designed by architect Tetsuo Kobori, this desk features a top crafted from solid domestic hardwood by Hida artisans and legs made of steel utilizing the metalworking techniques of Seki City, Gifu Prefecture. It is both simple and functional.

CITAA is a brand that offers products designed to integrate seamlessly into daily work life. From this brand, characterized by its minimalist aesthetic, comes "The Work Desk." Designed by Tetsuo Kobori, an architect known for his work on projects that blend nature and human elements, the desk fuses the craftsmanship of "Hida artisans" with the metalworking expertise of "Seki sword makers." It combines the woodworking techniques of Hida, boasting a 1300-year history, with the metalworking skills of Seki, which has produced numerous famous swords, resulting in a desk that is both simple and functional.

The tabletop is made from solid natural hardwood, achieving both the moderate hardness and softness required for a high-quality desk. It is scratch-resistant and functional, while also offering the gentle wood grain variations and warmth unique to natural materials. The edges of the tabletop, where the user's body and the desk make direct contact, feature a natural "waist" meticulously carved by Hida woodcraft artisans. This design reduces strain on the arms, creating a sense of integration with the desk. Furthermore, this contour guides cords downwards, contributing to a more refined impression around the desk.

To create a sense of open space at the user's feet, steel, known for its high strength even with a small cross-section, was chosen for the legs. This not only contributes to the minimalist appearance but also absorbs the user's subtle movements with the resilient steel legs, ensuring a stable desktop environment for work.
