A Decisive Cut Rug. The 2022 Version Released

An anonymous design unit, Airconditioned, brings together professionals from various fields to shape ideas through jam sessions. This year marks their 25th anniversary since starting in 1997. The "Karate Chop" series, released in 2000, is one of their signature works. We would like to introduce an iconic product from this series.

The "Karate Chop" series by Airconditioned is based on the concept of "transforming ordinary products into avant-garde forms and imbuing them with new functionality by cutting them in half." They view division as an extremely small design act, and have so far divided tables, sofas, rugs, paintings, and tableware.

The rugs, in particular, symbolize the series, with classic Wilton carpets divided in a 2:1 ratio. Becoming two pieces, large and small, enhances flexibility, allowing for diverse arrangements depending on the space.

This time, four new patterns have been introduced as the 2022 version of the rugs. The rugs themselves are produced in Belgium and Turkey, with final processing done in Japan. With more time spent at home these days, why not enjoy creating floor arrangements with these rugs?
