A special edition of Enzo Mari's "Mariolina" chair is released | Magis

Magis

A design where modules behind the seat and back support the frame.

The iconic "Mariolina" chair, with its simple, unadorned form and compact design, fits perfectly in Japanese homes and offices. What is the newly released special version, "Mariolina Mono"?

Text by Satsuki Wakabayashi

The "Mariolina," a minimalist and intellectual masterpiece by Italian master Enzo Mari. Now, a special version, "Mariolina Mono," has arrived.
While retaining the slender frame reminiscent of 1950s style, the design features modules attached to the rear of the seat and back that support the frame.
This differs from the standard Mariolina version, which is fixed with screws or rivets.
With its compact design, it can be stacked up to 12 chairs high. The exquisite curve of the seat ensures exceptional comfort.
Enzo Mari's ambition, who once stated, "The world is not designed only for the wealthy," and his vision for design are embodied in this single chair.
