Kōichi Okamoto began his career as a truck manufacturer before establishing Kyoei Design in 2006. Since then, he has been active as an artist whose work spans art, music, and design. In recent years, he has also launched the outdoor brand "FIELD RECORD," showcasing his multifaceted talents.
He now releases his latest work through the furniture label "E&Y." "THE CHAIRMAN" is a folding chair featuring a frame of 7mm diameter stainless steel rods, sandblasted and secured with ladder locks.
More than a product of meticulous design, it carries the weight of a sculptural piece, reflecting Okamoto's reason and true nature. Available in a limited edition of 10 units.
