Egon Eiermann's SE18 Folding Chair Now in Beechwood | METROCS
METROCS | METROCS
Winner of the 1953 MoMA Good Design Award
Egon Eiermann, who gained renown for his design of the German Pavilion at the 1958 Brussels World Expo and went on to design the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin and the Bundestag in Bonn, profoundly influenced post-war German architecture and design.
His folding chair, the "SE18," released in 1952, encapsulates Eiermann's philosophy on design, structure, and function. It received the MoMA Good Design Award in 1953 and was highly acclaimed at the 10th Milan Triennale.
The model newly arrived at METROCS is crafted from beechwood. While highly practical, it imbues any space with a sense of warmth. Scheduled for release on June 7th.
