70 Years Since Its Debut: Unchanging Elegance and Comfort | CARL HANSEN & SØN
CARL HANSEN & SØN
A Chair Where Wegner's Rare Talent Shines
Hans J. Wegner, the furniture designer Denmark proudly presents to the world, first unveiled his lounge chair "CH25" in 1950. Now, over 70 years later and still a long-seller, walnut has been added to its material lineup.
The front legs extend from the rear of the seat, and the arms are angled. It exudes a sense of calm and elegant presence, with a exquisite sitting comfort provided by the paper cord. The reason for adopting paper cord in the first place was that, amidst material shortages after World War II, Wegner chose it as an alternative to traditional materials. It has since come to be recognized as a beautiful and durable material. This chair is a testament to Wegner's sensibility, built upon his skills as a furniture craftsman and his deep understanding of natural materials.
The seat is available in two types of paper cord upholstery: natural or black. The color and texture of the walnut wood harmonize beautifully not only with classic interiors but also with modern spaces.
