To commemorate the 20th anniversary of The Rug Company, a brand specializing in handmade contemporary rugs, Vivienne Westwood has contributed her textile design expertise. This anniversary item is an homage to her affinity with Scotland.


For years, Vivienne Westwood has cultivated strong relationships with traditional Scottish fabric manufacturers such as Harris Tweed, wool, braid, and tartan. Building on this deep connection, this exclusive rug subverts the very concept of traditional motifs.

To imbue the traditional Scottish pattern with an oversized graphic sensibility, the tartan dimensions have been enlarged. The meticulously woven stripes of royal blue and oyster cream are accented with striking gold and beetle red threads. This rug is crafted from fine Tibetan wool, with each piece handwoven using time-honored weaving techniques and premium natural materials.
