Simply add ingredients, seal, and cook at high temperature under pressure for perfectly tender results.—Pressure cookers not only create delicious meals in a short time but also save on gas and electricity costs due to shorter cooking durations, making them a valuable kitchen tool. However, the reality is that many people still do not own one.
The basic operation involves a simple sequence: "Once pressurization begins and steam is released, reduce heat and time the cooking, then turn off the heat." Yet, for those unfamiliar with pressure cookers, the cooking steps can be entirely unclear, and judging the right moment solely by the steam can be difficult, contributing to the perception that they are "complicated."
T-fal's solution is the new pressure cooker with an "Alert Timer," designed for ease of use even for beginners. In pressure cooking, the release of continuous steam signals the start of pressurization, requiring a reduction in heat. This timing can be tricky to gauge. With the Acticook's Alert Timer, you set the pressurization time and turn on the heat; the timer automatically begins counting down, indicating when to reduce heat and when to turn it off.
<Acticook Cooking Steps>
1. Place ingredients in the pressure cooker, close the lid, select either low or high pressure, and set the cooking time according to the recipe on the timer. Heat over medium-high heat.
2. The first timer alert sounds, signaling the start of pressurization. Reduce the heat at this point.
3. When pressurization is complete, the second timer sounds. Turn off the heat and allow it to rest for steaming.
High pressure is ideal for ingredients and recipes requiring longer cooking times, such as large cuts of meat. Low pressure is suited for delicate ingredients and recipes, like vegetables. The Acticook easily switches between high pressure (85kPa) and low pressure (55kPa) simply by moving the selector left or right. Another key feature is the lid, which opens and closes effortlessly with the selector, and securely locks at any 360-degree position for safe use.
The Acticook series includes "Acticook Plus" in three sizes to suit family size, and "Acticook Simply" in two sizes.
