Soft Hues and Simple Forms
At "Design Miami 2016," held from November 30 to December 4, 2016, in Miami, USA, Italian designer Cristina Celestino unveiled "THE HAPPY ROOM," a furniture collection created for FENDI.
In this collaboration, Celestino sought to interpret FENDI's heritage through her unique lens, infusing traditional pieces like sofas and dressing tables with novel elements.
Conceived for VIP lounges, "The Happy Room" features items characterized by soft, pale colors, simple volumes, and rounded shapes. The color palettes, referencing 1950s Italian design, are accented with striking color contrasts.
The marble inlays that define the coffee tables also subtly reference iconic FENDI elements, such as the distinctive arches of the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana in Rome.
Furthermore, satin-finished brass elements, crafted to resemble earring clasps, are used not only as bases for the coffee tables but also as a recurring motif on the mustard-yellow sofa and the mint-green armchair.
Both the sofa and armchair are trimmed with grey fox fur, produced by FENDI's fur atelier, underscoring the brand's inherent luxury.
