New Works from Two Leading Italian Companies, Following Last Year
At this year's Salone del Mobile, Tokujin Yoshioka will present new works from two leading Italian furniture manufacturers, Kartell and Glas Italia. This marks the second consecutive year of exhibitions from both companies.
Kartell will exhibit "PLANET," a lighting series that emits light reminiscent of outer space, while Glas Italia will showcase "PRISM partition," a partition that creates a mirage-like space. Kartell's "Planet" features a form that shines through complex facets. It is said to diffuse random light through the lens effect created by the thickness of the transparent resin, emitting light that evokes outer space.
Meanwhile, Glas Italia's "Prism Partition" uses faceted high-transparency mirror glass to create forms with irregular curves, revealing a mysterious expression through light refraction, reflecting its surroundings to create a space akin to a mirage.
Yoshioka's design approach focuses on light, aiming to bring fresh utility to spaces. While this year's Salone del Mobile offers many highlights, if you have the chance, we encourage you to experience the new world pioneered by Yoshioka at the venue.
