Scandinavian Luxury Lifestyle
Georg Jensen is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Currently operating over 80 stores in 12 countries worldwide, its first directly managed store in Japan opened in 1983 at the Imperial Hotel Plaza in Tokyo's Hibiya.
In 2006, a jewelry shop designed by Tadao Ando opened in Beverly Hills.
The company, which champions the theme of "the fusion of utility and beauty," defines a lifestyle that considers "the improvement of quality of life in Nordic living" as
“Scandinavian luxury lifestyle.”
Nordic design is a collective term for design from countries such as Denmark, Finland, and Sweden.
It gained popularity with its modern design after World War II, and its timeless, simple aesthetic continues to attract many fans.
Its characteristic design is functional, with minimal ornamentation, creating a sense of space.
While Georg Jensen is generally well-known for its jewelry,
it is actually a brand that proposes a comprehensive lifestyle, creating numerous items for the home as well.
The shop opening this time is inspired by a "private Danish home,"
offering not only watches and jewelry but also a wide range of lifestyle items that have been less accessible until now.
It's a delightful place to visit, sparking ideas about how one might furnish their own space.
The designs offer "true richness" for consumers who wish to use high-quality items for a long time.
To commemorate the opening of the Tokyo store, several limited-edition jewelry pieces and watches are planned for sale.
Additionally, on the second floor of the same building, "Illums," a leading Danish brand for Nordic furniture and雑貨 (miscellaneous goods), is scheduled to open.
It is a focal point for Nordic design, essential for a life of quality.
