The Virtual Shibuya Halloween Executive Committee (KDDI Corporation, Shibuya Mirai Design, Shibuya Tourism Association) will host the "Virtual Shibuya au 5G Halloween Fes 2022" from Wednesday, October 26 to Monday, October 31.

"Virtual Shibuya," Japan's first officially recognized city-linked metaverse, was launched in May 2020 by the "Shibuya 5G Entertainment Project," primarily composed of KDDI, Shibuya Mirai Design, and the Shibuya Tourism Association. It regularly hosts various virtual events, attracting nearly one million participants from around the globe.

Among these, the "Virtual Halloween" will be held again this year. For its third iteration, under the theme "Culture Crossing - Where Shibuya Meets the World -," it will broadcast popular Japanese artists, VTubers, and anime pop culture from Shibuya to the world.

Throughout the festival, daily events featuring experiences unique to the virtual world, such as music live performances, fan meetings, and auditions, are scheduled to be held every day.

Furthermore, continuing from previous years, attraction content that allows visitors to fully enjoy the Halloween spirit throughout the event period will be available.

A giant bathtub from BAB MONSTER BUBBLE and the latest Toyota Corolla Sport will appear in the city for Halloween, alongside the chance to transform into a Sadako avatar and roam the streets, or enjoy uniquely Japanese experiences like "Don't Break the Ice." Additionally, fashion content befitting Shibuya will be available, including a limited-time fashion area by PAL, a brand with nationwide stores.

The cable car "Hibari-go," which operated above Shibuya for just two years starting in 1951, will be recreated in "Virtual Shibuya" for a limited time during Halloween. Visitors can ride the cable car for a virtual aerial tour of "Virtual Shibuya," overlooking the Halloween-themed cityscape – an experience only possible in a virtual space of a real city. Furthermore, for each ride, the original fare of 10 yen will be donated to the actual Shibuya area.

Last year, "Meta Job!" deployed 145 "official staff" members in the virtual space. This year, they are recruiting staff who can handle both Japanese and English. These staff will support visitors by guiding them on how to use the platform, providing event information, and taking photos, thereby enhancing the participants' enjoyment of the virtual space. This offers a new way to work, transcending limitations of location and face-to-face interaction.

The "Virtual Shibuya au 5G Halloween Fes 2022" is becoming a regular event. Expectations are high for this year's content, which is sure to boost our spirits.

Moka Sato, a highly anticipated singer-songwriter whose songs have garnered over 180 million views on TikTok and been featured in drama opening sequences, will hold her first live performance in "Virtual Shibuya." This live performance, featuring live music, will include interactive elements such as audience polls to decide the song setlist, alongside surprise virtual-exclusive performances.

Three members of FRUITS ZIPPER – Amane Tsukiashi, Suzuka Chinzei, and Noel Hayase – who debuted from ASOBISYSTEM's idol project "KAWAII LAB." and are gaining international attention with overseas performances in October, will make their first appearance as avatars in "Virtual Shibuya"! In addition to Halloween-themed talks, fans can enjoy virtual-exclusive interactions such as walking through the city together and taking commemorative photos. These artists, who embody "NEW KAWAII" from Shibuya, a hub for diverse cultures and unique fashion, will spread their charm to the world alongside their fans.

<Friday, October 28: Sister Claire x Fren E. Louverture Halloween Party>21:30 (Doors Open) / 22:00 (Start)
Popular VTubers from the virtualLiver group Nijisanji, Sister Claire and Fren E. Louverture, will appear at the fan meeting "Sister Claire x Fren E. Louverture Halloween Party." Sister Claire, participating for the second consecutive year, will offer not only city walks and commemorative photos, which were highly popular last year, but also quizzes.

<Saturday, October 29: Ya Boy Kongming! Halloween Party Eiko Tsukimi x Nanami Kuon>19:30 (Doors Open) / 20:00 (Start)
"Ya Boy Kongming!" makes its first appearance in "Virtual Shibuya." This time, voice actors Kaede Hondo and Hibiku Yamamura will appear on stage as avatars for Eiko Tsukimi and Nanami Kuon, respectively. A fan meeting will be held on a special Halloween stage, where fans can enjoy a one-night-only party at the virtual Shibuya Scramble Crossing.
