A statue inspired by the graffiti of Banksy, the anonymous artist active mainly in London, is released as an exclusive item from Sync. for MEDICOM TOY PLUS and 2G.

Banksy, who garnered attention in April for releasing a work themed around working from home on Instagram, and in May for donating a piece to Southampton General Hospital in the UK to honor healthcare workers fighting on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. The latter, in particular, sparked diverse interpretations and opinions, truly solidifying his reputation as an art world maverick.

Sync. has previously released statues inspired by Banksy's graffiti, but the new "Elephant with Bomb" is poised to be one of the most striking.

Strapped to the back of a slowly walking elephant is a giant, rocket-shaped bomb.

This graffiti, which first appeared in Barcelona, Spain, is a satire that confronts human contradictions, playing on themes of war and peace, science and nature. Elephants, now an endangered species and considered so special in Thailand that a white elephant is said to be the Buddha's previous incarnation, are a motif Banksy frequently employs alongside rats and monkeys. In 2006, at a show held in an industrial warehouse in Los Angeles, he exhibited an elephant painted with harmless paint that matched the room's color pattern, under the title "The Elephant in the Room," which also caused a stir.
