From "KNIT GANG COUNCIL," a collaboration between Amiami Horiuchi and MEDICOM TOY, comes a knit series that masterfully captures the world of "The Shining," a cornerstone of modern horror cinema.

"The Shining" (THE SHINING) is a film adaptation of Stephen King's novel of the same name, brought to life with a unique interpretation by the visionary Stanley Kubrick. Upon its release in 1980, audiences were captivated by its cinematic beauty, a testament to the director's perfectionism, featuring symmetrical compositions and dynamic scenes captured with the then-newly developed Steadicam.

The story unfolds at the Overlook Hotel, nestled high in the mountains. Jack Torrance, an aspiring novelist, takes a position as the winter caretaker of the hotel, which closes during the colder months, intending to use the isolation to focus on his writing. He moves in with his wife, Wendy, and their young son, Danny. However, the hotel is steeped in a dark history, and Danny, possessing a mysterious ability known as "the shining," witnesses a series of supernatural events. "There is something in this hotel..." Amidst a blizzard, cut off from the outside world, their solitary life begins.

KNIT GANG COUNCIL has recreated iconic motifs from the film: the "carpet" pattern of the Overlook Hotel appears on a knit blouson, while the "twin girls" that Danny encounters in the hotel are depicted on a crewneck sweater and knit scarf.
