"Ro™" - Meaning "Serenity" in Danish

Creating a space and time to return to oneself, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.—The new lounge chair "Ro™" was born from the desire to create furniture that offers modern individuals, living busy lives, an opportunity for quiet, deep contemplation.


The generous 1.5-seater seat of "Ro™" creates a comfortable moment for relaxation with a laptop, tablet, or newspaper, and can also foster a new sense of peace when shared with a child. The design of the shell, which promises visual and functional serenity, is also noteworthy.

Special "Ro™" Designs Inspired by Seven Cities Exhibited at Salone del Mobile.Milano

For this project, Fritz Hansen asked Jaime Hayon for "a comfortable armchair." Hayon explains, "We spent a very long time developing the form of this chair, inspired by the human body. We sought both comfort and beauty. My goal was to create a slender, elegant chair that supports thought and well-being."


"Ro™" is available in three types of color variations: Traditional (Black, Grey, Taupe), Bright (Violet, Blue, Yellow), and Soft (Light Pink, Sage Green, Sand), totaling nine colors. The shell of the chair features upholstery with a different texture from the seat and back cushions, with each upholstery highlighting the contrast between the shell's hard impression and the warm, soft impression of its interior.


During Salone del Mobile.Milano, the Fritz Hansen Milan showroom will also exhibit special "Ro™" designs inspired by seven cities, alongside the new collection. "Ro™" is scheduled to be available at Fritz Hansen concept stores and authorized retailers nationwide starting around Autumn 2013.
