DESIGNTIDE TOKYO 2012 is being held at Tokyo Midtown Hall until Sunday, November 4th. The Tide Exhibition and Tide Focus, Tide Market held at the main venue, and this year's expanded Tide Table, offer the most realistic experience of DESIGNTIDE's aim: a place to trade ideas.

New Products from "Ichiro no Iro"

Spark Creativity and Brighten Everyday Life!
The "Ichiro no Iro" project was launched by Ichiro, a decorative panel manufacturer, with the desire to create new household goods. Following the "Cororo Desk/Cororo Stool" released this spring, three new small products are introduced: "Cororo Stand," "Dabo Block," and "Cororo Magnet." The designs, like the previous products, were created by Torafu Architects.

"Sabae Mimikaki" Makes Its Debut

Ear picks shaped like eyeglasses, born in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture
Not for wearing, but for picking—Cement Produce Design, a design collective active across borders in graphics, web, products, and CI, has jointly developed "Sabae Mimikaki" (Sabae Ear Pick) with a glass material processing manufacturer in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. These ear picks, shaped like eyeglasses, will be exhibited and sold at the DESIGNTIDE TOKYO 2012 Tide Market.

Monma Tansu's New Project "monmaya +"
Founded in Sendai in 1872, Monma Tansu is a long-established maker of Sendai chests, continuing production in the same location for 140 years. This esteemed company has launched a new project, "monmaya +." The inaugural project features a console table, designed by internationally active designer Tomoko Azumi and artist Riko Takahashi, which fully utilizes the techniques of Sendai chests to fit seamlessly into contemporary spaces.

Since its founding in 1951, Marimekko, the Finnish lifestyle brand loved by people across countries and generations for its highly functional and well-designed products, is opening a "kiosk"? Named "MARIKISKA," it will appear for a limited time from Tuesday, October 30th to Sunday, November 4th at "ROCKET" in Harajuku, as part of DESIGNTIDE TOKYO 2012's Tide Extension.

A Step Beyond Recycling: "Coca-Cola Bottleware"

Limited Edition Tableware, 500 Sets Worldwide
When you think of Coca-Cola, you think of that distinctive, contoured bottle...—Coca-Cola has collaborated with design office nendo, led by Oki Sato, to create "Coca-Cola Bottleware," a line of tableware made from 100% recycled Coca-Cola contour bottles. It will be unveiled at DESIGNTIDE TOKYO 2012 and will be available for pre-sale starting Wednesday, October 31st at Cibone Aoyama.

New Collection Announcement from POS+ Participating Labels

POS+, a Select Watch Brand with a New Concept
"POS+" is a select watch brand with a new concept, bringing together unique designer watches from various countries including the UK, Sweden, and the US, under the theme of "communication accessories." New collections from POS+ participating labels will be announced at DESIGNTIDE TOKYO 2012's Tide Market and at On Sundays within the Watari Museum of Contemporary Art.

Recreating a Modern Gentleman's Study Space on the 5th Floor of Isetan Shinjuku Main Building
Contemporary tea ceremony, also drawing attention from the art scene. Ippin Saraya, considered a key figure in this movement, will present "Dan-Cha (Dandy) ~DESIGNTIDE > CHANOYU SIDE~," an exhibition event proposing tea ceremony for modern men. It will be held from Wednesday, October 24th to Tuesday, November 6th, on the 5th floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building's living floor.

With charming expressions and rounded forms, Lisa Larson's works exude a simple and gentle atmosphere. The exhibition "Lisa LARSON ~SWEDISH CERAMIC ARTIST~," featuring a collection of her beloved pieces, including rare vintage items from around the world and a reproduction collection of butterfly ceramic plates, will be held from Wednesday, October 24th to Tuesday, 30th, at The Stage on the 1st floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building.

The windows on each floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building and Men's Building, handled by House Industries, showcase "The Beginning = Baccarat, the Trajectory of its Creation." The special venue on the 5th floor presents "The Present = Obsessed with Arcoroc," and The Stage on the 1st floor features "The Future = Light Towards the Future."—Immerse yourself in the allure of Baccarat, curated by Isetan, at the main exhibition "Baccarat: From the Beginning to the Future," held across various floors of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building and Men's Building from Wednesday, October 24th to Tuesday, November 6th.
