Presets for Every Sound

Auro-3D® is an immersive audio format that allows you to enjoy natural, lifelike 3D sound.

It combines a 5.1ch surround system with surround back speakers (7.1ch) with up to six height speakers (front height, center height, surround height, and top surround speakers) to create a sound environment with depth and breadth, totaling 13.1 channels.

Furthermore, the Auro-Matic Upmixer can naturally upmix mono, stereo, and surround content into 3D sound.

Marantz's flagship AV preamplifier, the "AV8805," now supports Auro-3D®. After updating the firmware via the internet, the "Auro-3D" sound mode can be selected.

The Auto-Matic Upmixer's effect can be adjusted with five presets and 16 levels of channel balance, depending on the content being played.

The five presets are "Small," "Standard," "Large," "Movie," and "Speech."

"Small" is ideal for pop music and chamber music. "Standard" is for jazz, general movies, and TV programs. "Large" is the optimal preset for content recorded in large spaces, such as orchestras. "Movie" is perfect for film content with action scenes featuring large explosions, while "Speech" is best suited for content that is primarily dialogue with little spatial information, like news broadcasts.

Additionally, the AV8805 can switch between "Direct" mode, which plays Auro-3D input signals as they are, and "Channel Expansion" mode, which expands playback up to 13.1 channels according to the connected speaker configuration.

The AV8805 offers another option for enjoying more powerful sound.
