The Sound You Want, and the Sound You Don't
Upscaled to High-Resolution Audio.
Enjoy Wireless Sound!
Sony's new MDR-1000X headphones can upscale compressed audio to high-resolution quality even when used wirelessly. They also achieve industry-leading noise-canceling performance, allowing you to immerse yourself in your own world anytime, anywhere. Furthermore, their intuitive interface, which allows you to instantly lower volume or skip tracks with gestures, is equally compelling.

As the Manufacturer Says
Once You Hear This Sound, You Can't Go Back
CDs and MP3s are what we call compressed audio. By removing a certain amount of the original audio data, the file size is made more compact. However, Sony's MDR-1000X headphones are equipped with an upscaling circuit within the headphones themselves to restore compressed audio to its original form. Even if the player or smartphone providing the music doesn't support high-resolution audio, this circuit compensates for the missing data, allowing you to enjoy music with a rich, immersive sound quality.
Naturally, when connected via cable to a high-resolution compatible player, the data is transmitted directly to the headphones, creating the superior soundstage that high-resolution audio is known for. Even with wireless Bluetooth connection, the adoption of the LDAC codec, which transmits approximately three times more information than conventional methods, allows you to enjoy high-resolution quality sound without significant loss of audio quality. This freedom from the hassle of cords, thanks to wireless connectivity, is particularly effective when using headphones outdoors. With the removal of the headphone jack from the iPhone 7, wireless compatibility is an essential feature for the future of mobile environments.
Furthermore, these headphones feature a "Quick Attention" mode. When noise canceling is active, covering the right earcup with your hand temporarily lowers the music volume and allows ambient sound to be heard. This function is useful for hearing important announcements or engaging in brief conversations without removing the headphones.

Covering the right earcup with your hand temporarily lowers the music volume and allows ambient sound to be heard. This allows for immediate responses when someone speaks to you.

Swiping up increases volume, swiping down decreases it. Swiping forward skips to the next track, swiping backward goes to the previous track.
Touch operations on the right earcup allow for music playback/pause, volume adjustment, and more. When connected to a smartphone, voice assistant functions like Google Now™ and Siri® can also be easily activated with a touch.
Available in two color variations: beige and black. The color schemes complement a mature style, making them suitable for any occasion.
