Introducing the New "h.ear" Series of High-Resolution Headphones

Sony is launching the new "h.ear" series of headphones on Saturday, October 10th, designed to fully convey the appeal of high-resolution audio. The lineup includes the world's first inner-ear high-resolution compatible model, incorporating Sony's proprietary sound technologies. In contrast, the series pursues a thoroughly simple design, setting it apart from previous products. All models are available in single colors, with matching Walkman "A Series" players also being released.

Minimalist Design with Single-Color Finishes Across All Components

The new "h.ear" series of headphones, available in inner-ear and headband styles, comes in five colors each. While the high-resolution audio quality is a significant draw, the minimalist design, which strips away everything but the essential elements for listening to music, is particularly striking and sets it apart from Sony's previous products.

Designed for users who value their personal style, the "h.ear" series transcends being merely an audio device. By not overemphasizing its audio functions in its design, it becomes an appealing item not just for audiophiles, but for all music fans.

To offer the appeal of high-quality audio to a wide range of users, product components have been compressed and condensed. By retaining only the essential elements and pursuing extreme simplicity, a new "classic" style has been established that aligns with various user lifestyles.

The color palette incorporates fashion trends, adopting "Colors in between" to easily match the user's personal style.

Pursuing a thoroughly simple single-color expression, dyeing and polishing times have been precisely adjusted to achieve the same color tone across all parts, despite their different materials and finishes.

Featuring the World's First High-Resolution Compatible Inner-Ear Model

The "h.ear in" MDR-EX750AP, the world's first sealed inner-ear receiver with digital noise canceling, achieves transparent, high-quality sound despite its in-ear design.

A newly developed 9mm dynamic driver enables music playback with high sensitivity and a wide frequency range up to 40kHz. The adoption of an aluminum housing suppresses unnecessary vibrations, resulting in clear sound quality.

The headband-type "h.ear on" further enhances clarity. It features a 40mm driver unit with a diaphragm that uses a vibration-resistant, high-rigidity titanium-coated dome. Capable of reproducing frequencies up to 60kHz, it delivers clear sound by suppressing unnecessary vibrations.

Additionally, the ear pads are three-dimensionally sewn to improve comfort and enhance airtightness, reducing sound leakage. The bass response is said to be more powerful. The housing also folds compactly for easy portability.

Walkman High-Resolution Players in Synchronized Colors Also Released

To coincide with the launch of the new headphone series, Sony is also releasing the NW-A20 series of high-resolution compatible Walkman players, which offer approximately 6.5 times the information content of CD audio.

Sony's proprietary sound technologies are generously incorporated, including "DSEE HX," which upscales compressed audio to high-resolution quality, and the full digital amplifier "S-Master HX," which enhances noise reduction performance in high-frequency playback.

The body features a spun metal finish. The simple, high-quality body, seemingly carved from a single plate, is exceptionally compact for a high-resolution player, measuring just 8.7mm thick and weighing only 66g.

The colors include the five "in-between" shades used in the "h.ear" series, plus silver, for a total of six options. Adopting "intermediate hues" to match the user's personal style, the lineup features single-color designs that complement sophisticated styling.
