Makoto Tanijiri probes Yukio Fujimaki's robust "human power"
Yukio Fujimaki, our guest for the 17th THINK, was known as the mastermind behind "successful sales floors" during his time at Isetan, where he excelled as a charismatic buyer.
Subsequently, he took on the role of turnaround specialist for the long-established brand "Fukuske," achieving corporate revitalization in just about a year and a half. Currently, he travels across Japan, focusing on creating brands rooted in "Japan" by producing spaces, primarily for apparel, and managing hotels and cafes, offering new trends and values. Furthermore, he is active in a wide range of fields, including writing, commentary, judging, and serving as a corporate advisor.
Recently, he has also launched "Fujimaki Department Store," an e-commerce site selling items he has personally selected, with the theme of "encountering things beyond mere objects."

Yukio Fujimaki | FUJIMAKI Yukio
Born in Tokyo in 1960. After graduating from Sophia University's Faculty of Economics, he joined Isetan Co., Ltd. At Isetan, he produced numerous sales floors such as "Kaiku," "Re-Style," and "BPQC," and also gained experience as a buyer at Barneys New York. After leaving Isetan, he served as an executive at a renowned company before becoming the Representative Director and President of Fukuske Co., Ltd. in 2003, Representative Director of Seven & i Lifestyle Design Research Institute Co., Ltd. in 2005, and Executive Officer and General Manager of Apparel Business for Ito-Yokado Co., Ltd.
Currently, while traveling across Japan to build brands focused on "Japan," he is also active as a producer for Shikata Co., Ltd., president of Tetraster Co., Ltd., and as an entrepreneur.
