Nagaoka is a multifaceted talent, known as a designer, producer, and entrepreneur. He founded "D&DEPARTMENT PROJECT," which discovers and sells timeless design products, and has launched various other projects such as "NIPPON VISION," a collection of regional crafts still in use as daily necessities, and "D&FARM," which creatively approaches "agriculture," an area seemingly distant from design.

Recently, he has been traveling across Japan on his own, publishing design travel guidebooks for each prefecture. His activities extend beyond the design industry, attracting attention from various fields. We hope to hear his unique perspective on the charms of Hiroshima that we may not yet be aware of. We eagerly await your attendance.

Kenmei Nagaoka
Representative of D&DEPARTMENT PROJECT. Born in Hokkaido in 1965. After working at the Hara Design Institute of Nippon Design Center, he established Drawing and Manual in 1997. In 2000, he launched "D&DEPARTMENT PROJECT," a new venture merging design and recycling in Tokyo's Setagaya ward, pursuing a space for consumption conceived by designers.
In 2002, he initiated "60VISION," a brand and platform for companies and products representing the origins of Japanese manufacturing. He is simultaneously advancing projects with multiple companies, including MARUNI, KARIMOKU, and NORITAKE. Currently, he is expanding "NIPPON PROJECT" to all 47 prefectures, envisioning a store infrastructure where Japanese design can be purchased correctly, in collaboration with young local artisans.
In 2009, he launched the guidebook series "d design travel," introducing Japan from a design perspective.
