With "Meguru ecoW," during sunny daytime hours, electricity is generated through both solar and gas power, with surplus solar power being sold back to the grid. Since power can also be generated by gas during nighttime or rainy days, it's possible to reduce electricity costs more efficiently than with solar power alone. The system is said to cut annual household utility costs by approximately 66 percent. It also reduces annual CO2 emissions from general households by about 900 kg. By combining this dual power generation with a battery storage system (2.07 kWh), it's possible to automatically switch the power supply to the battery in the event of a power outage, allowing for the continued use of pre-selected home appliances.

Since the Great East Japan Earthquake, interest in energy generation methods like solar and gas power, as well as battery storage, has been steadily increasing as a measure against power shortages and outages. Furthermore, with the expansion of national and local government subsidy programs providing further support, homes capable of energy self-sufficiency appear poised for continued evolution.
