New Entry-Grade Model Added to 3 Series Touring

BMW has added the "318i Touring," an entry-level model, to its "3 Series Touring" station wagon lineup and commenced sales.

Despite Being an Entry-Grade Model, Safety and Infotainment Features Are Abundant

The "318i Touring," newly added as an entry-grade model to the 3 Series Touring that underwent a full model change in 2019 and arrived in Japan, is powered by a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder gasoline engine producing a maximum output of 115 kW (156 ps) and a maximum torque of 250 Nm.

Even as an entry-grade model, it comes standard with the "Driving Assistant Plus" safety and driver assistance system. Features such as the "Traffic Jam Assistant with Hands-Off Function" are also available, and it is eligible for the "Support Car" subsidy.

The Parking Assistant, also standard, includes a "Reversing Assistant function" that can recall the route the vehicle traveled backward for up to 50 meters immediately prior and accurately return along the same path.

The infotainment system also includes "BMW ConnectedDrive" as standard, which connects the driver, car, and surrounding information via an IT network using an onboard communication module.

With the introduction of the 318i Touring, the 320i SE Touring has been discontinued. The price for the 318i Touring is 5.23 million yen, and the M Sport model is 5.84 million yen.
