All Factory Energy Now Solar or Certified Clean
At Bentley's UK headquarters, 10,000 solar panels with a generating capacity of 2.7 MW have been installed across 16,426 square meters, providing parking for 1,378 cars – an area larger than two football pitches. Bentley states that this system will reduce CO2 emissions by 3,300 tons annually.
With the addition of this solar carport, Bentley's solar power generation capacity has reached 7.7 MW, equivalent to the electricity required to power over 1,750 homes. The total number of solar panels installed at the Crewe headquarters is now 30,815.
These initiatives mean that all electricity used at Bentley's factories is now sourced from solar power or certified green energy.
Last year, Bentley celebrated its centenary. The company commented, "Looking ahead to the next 100 years, we must invest in initiatives that benefit the environment, including our products and employees. We aim to lead in sustainable luxury mobility."
