Steering Correction and Driver Warning for Lane Departure
The current sixth-generation Polo was introduced in 2018. The adoption of the "MQB" module platform allowed for the integration of advanced safety features previously found only in higher-end models.
Newly added to the optional Safety Package is "Lane Assist," which helps keep the vehicle within its lane. A camera mounted at the top of the windshield monitors the driving lane. When it detects unintentional lane departure, it corrects the steering and warns the driver, providing steering support.
In addition to Lane Assist, the Safety Package includes a parking assistance system, a blind-spot detection function, and "Rear Traffic Alert," which provides warnings and collision mitigation braking when reversing.
The Safety Package is priced at ¥132,000 for the Polo Highline, R-Line, and GTI models, and ¥154,000 for the Comfortline Limited.
