Mercedes-Benz Japan has announced the "GLC 220 d 4MATIC Sports Line Edition" special editions for the mid-size SUV GLC and GLC Coupe. Orders are now open.

Based on the C-Class, the GLC and GLC Coupe are mid-size SUVs that leverage their low center of gravity and maneuverability. In 2019, a minor model change refreshed their interior and exterior designs. The interactive infotainment system "MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience)" and the latest driver assistance systems were also introduced.

The "GLC 220 d 4MATIC Sports Line Edition" special edition, characterized by its sporty exterior, features the AMG styling package for the front and rear, complemented by 19-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels.

The interior is equipped with a 12.3-inch cockpit display and ARTICO material seats in black. Black ash wood trim is also used, creating a calm interior space unified in black.

Furthermore, the standard equipment includes the Air Balance package, which enhances the cabin with a perfume atomizer for a relaxing aroma, a reinforced filter element with activated carbon, and a high-density pollen filter for a clean interior environment. The perfume atomizer also allows for adjustment of on/off settings and aroma intensity.

Both models are powered by a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, producing a maximum output of 143 kW (194 ps) and a peak torque of 400 Nm. Power is delivered to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission.

The price for the special edition models is 7.41 million yen for the GLC and 7.69 million yen for the GLC Coupe. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in late May 2021.
