On Thursday, January 16, Porsche AG announced the addition of the "718 Boxster GTS 4.0" and "718 Cayman GTS 4.0," equipped with a flat-six engine, to its two-seater mid-ship sports car lineup.

The 4.0-liter flat-six naturally aspirated engine used in the two models is the same as that found in the "718 Spyder" and "718 Cayman GT4," producing a maximum output of 400 PS (294 kW). Paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and sports exhaust system, it achieves 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 293 km/h.

Efficiency is enhanced by adaptive cylinder control, which alternately deactivates two cylinder banks under low load, direct fuel injection, and a variable intake manifold. The rich sound of the flat-six engine is delivered through a twin-tailpipe sports exhaust system.

The chassis features PASM Sport suspension as standard, lowering the ride height by 20mm. It also includes Porsche Stability Management (PSM) with a Sport mode, the Sport Chrono package with an upgraded Porsche Track Precision app, Porsche Active Drivetrain Mounts (PADM), and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with a mechanical limited-slip rear differential, all contributing to precise handling, agile steering, and responsive cornering.

The suspension is equipped with 20-inch satin gloss black alloy wheels and high-performance tires (front: 235/35ZR20, rear: 265/35ZR20), along with an enhanced braking system featuring cross-drilled discs and red calipers. Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) are available as an option.

The exterior design emphasizes the GTS models' sporty character with a black air intake on the spoiler lip and SportDesign front apron, along with contrasting dark colors applied to the front fog light lenses, rear light lenses, and the redesigned lower rear bumper.

The interior features dark Alcantara on the center sections of the Sport Plus seats, steering wheel rim, center console, shift lever, and door armrests, creating a sporty yet elegant atmosphere.

The optional GTS Interior Package allows for the addition of contrasting Carmine Red or Chalk accents, highlighting decorative stitching including the GTS logo embroidered on the rev counter, seatbelts, and headrests, as well as the PORSCHE logo on the floor mats with black borders. Trim elements and the center console trim are made of carbon.

The Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with a high-resolution 7-inch touchscreen and the Sport Chrono package are standard. For the Japanese market, online navigation with real-time traffic information, voice control, and Porsche Connect are also standard. The BOSE Surround Sound System and Burmester High-End Surround Sound System are available as options.
