BMW 8 Series Gets Bold Black and Gold Limited Edition
BMW has announced the limited-edition "M850i xDrive Edition Golden Thunder" for its flagship 8 Series coupé. In Japan, only one unit each of the coupé, convertible, and Gran Coupé will be available. Orders will open exclusively through the BMW Online Store from noon on Thursday, July 30, 2020.

Only One Unit Each of Coupé, Convertible, and Gran Coupé Sold in Japan
The "M850i xDrive Edition Golden Thunder" has arrived for BMW's flagship coupé, the 8 Series. Its striking design features a black body with gold accents applied in various locations.
The powertrain is a 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo gasoline engine developed by BMW M, producing a maximum output of 390 kW (530 ps). This is combined with BMW M's proprietary xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
The exterior features a Black Sapphire body color, with specially equipped black-painted kidney grilles and brake calipers. Gold accents, inspired by lightning, are applied to the door mirrors, body sides, and wheels, creating a unique aesthetic that blends sharp sportiness with elegant highlights.
Inside, the headrests bear "Edition Golden Thunder" lettering, and the interior features exclusive gold trim. The Bowers & Wilkins diamond surround sound system is standard, delivering beautiful, clear audio.
All models are right-hand drive. The price is ¥18.82 million for the coupé, ¥19.62 million for the convertible, and ¥18.51 million for the Gran Coupé, with only one unit of each available. Deliveries are expected around the end of 2020.
