The M8 Gran Coupé and its Competition variant are racing models developed based on the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé. They are equipped with BMW M's most innovative 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, paired with an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic and BMW M's unique M xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
The body dimensions are 5,105mm in length, 1,945mm in width, and 1,420mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,025mm.
The M8 Gran Coupé is powered by a 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine that produces a maximum output of 600ps at 6,000rpm and a maximum torque of 750Nm between 1,800 and 5,600rpm.
The "M MODE" button on the center console allows drivers to switch between "ROAD" and "SPORT" modes, altering the display on the instrument panel and head-up display, as well as the intervention level of the driver assistance systems.
In "ROAD" mode, all driver assistance systems are active. In "SPORT" mode, all braking and steering interventions, except for front collision warning and automatic emergency braking, can be deactivated based on driver-set parameters.
The M xDrive all-wheel-drive system, developed by BMW M, allows drivers to adjust the front-rear power distribution as needed. In addition to the standard "4WD" mode, there are "4WD SPORT" mode, which offers a rear-biased feel, and a pure rear-wheel-drive "2WD" mode with DSC deactivated.
The exterior features a beautiful notchback style achieved through unique design and carbon core technology. The interior boasts a newly designed selector lever with M logos and stitching in M model colors, sculpted sports seats, and carbon fiber interior trim.
Advanced driver assistance systems include a traffic jam assistant with a hands-off function and a Reversing Assistant that can recall the last 50 meters driven forward and replay the path in reverse.
The M8 Gran Coupé Competition is equipped with a 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine that delivers a maximum output of 625ps at 6,000rpm and a maximum torque of 750Nm between 1,800 and 5,860rpm.
Design enhancements include high-gloss black kidney grilles and model badges, door mirrors, and bi-color 20-inch M wheels, giving it a more aggressive appearance. The interior comes standard with M seatbelts, a BMW Individual Alcantara headliner, and full Merino leather/Alcantara combination seats.
The price is ¥21,940,000 for the M8 Gran Coupé and ¥23,970,000 for the M8 Gran Coupé Competition.
