Powertrain Options: 1.5-Liter Gasoline and Hybrid

The Yaris Cross inherits the Yaris series' signature "agile driving, advanced safety and security features, and excellent fuel economy," while pursuing new value as a compact SUV that meets the demands of a new era, going beyond mere convenience.

Specifically, it adopts the TNGA platform (GA-B) for compact cars, similar to the Yaris. Leveraging its performance, the packaging achieves a refined, well-balanced proportion that expresses the SUV's robustness and presence, complementing the "condensed feel" of the Yaris. Furthermore, despite being a compact SUV, the highly practical cargo space is designed to support the active lifestyles of its occupants.
The Yaris Cross measures 4,180mm in length, 1,765mm in width, and 1,590mm in height, slightly larger than the base Yaris model. Powertrain options include a 1.5-liter inline three-cylinder gasoline engine producing 120ps and 145Nm of torque, and a hybrid system combining a 1.5-liter engine with an electric motor (91ps/120Nm). The hybrid E-Four model features an electric 4WD system with front (80ps/141Nm) and rear (5.3ps/52Nm) motors.
The new-generation hybrid system, featuring the "1.5-liter Dynamic Force inline three-cylinder engine" based on the TNGA philosophy, delivers powerful, seamless driving along with class-leading fuel economy (30.8 km/L in WLTC mode for 2WD models), surpassing conventional SUV standards.
Gasoline models are equipped with features that allow drivers to enjoy the SUV experience, such as Multi-Terrain Select, which enables selection from three modes to support driving based on road conditions.
Hybrid models further include a SNOW mode that controls torque in response to accelerator input, contributing to smooth starts on slippery surfaces like snow, and a TRAIL mode for E-Four vehicles that distributes appropriate drive torque to the tires that gain traction on rough terrain, aiding in smooth obstacle clearance.
Downhill Assist Control, which maintains a constant low speed during descents for stable driving, is equipped on gasoline 4WD and E-Four models.
The exterior design, based on the "Robust & Minimalist" philosophy with the keyword "ENERGETIC SMART," pursues an active, refined, and well-balanced proportion. The strong side view, characteristic of an SUV, is created by a horizontal axis running from the front to the rear combination lamps, while distinctive character lines emphasize its robustness and utility.
The rear features a square central section and a large-opening tailgate that convey high functionality. Prominently flared fenders, similar to the front, express its robust character.

Class-Leading Cargo Capacity of 390 Liters

The interior emphasizes a strong presence through the vertical flow from the center console to the display audio (DA). The adoption of a highly visible TFT color LCD multi-information display and meters, the upward placement of the DA, and the head-up display (HUD) minimize driver eye movement, realizing an interior that allows for focused driving (Eyes On The Road concept).
Additionally, the upper part of the instrument panel features a soft pad created using "slash molding." Furthermore, warm, new felt material is used extensively on the door trims, creating a refined and comfortable interior space.
The cargo space offers a class-leading capacity of 390 liters when the deck board is in its lower position. It can accommodate two suitcases (110 liters each) or two golf bags (9.5-inch), utilizing its height and width to handle various types of luggage.
The vehicle also features a 4:2:4 split rear seat and a 6:4 split adjustable deck board, a first for Toyota compact SUVs. Utility hooks and flex belts can be combined for securing luggage, enabling diverse cargo arrangements to support an active lifestyle.
The convenient Hands-Free Power Back Door allows for automatic opening and closing simply by moving your foot under the rear bumper while carrying the smart key (a first for Toyota compact SUVs). It also opens and closes approximately twice as fast as previous Toyota models.
Safety and security features include the latest preventive safety package, "Toyota Safety Sense," as standard equipment (excluding the X "B package"). It incorporates advanced driver-assistance systems such as the all-speed range adaptive cruise control with electric parking brake, which has been enhanced from the Yaris, and the Adaptive High-beam System (AHS), along with "Toyota Teammate (Advanced Park)."
The target monthly sales volume is 4,100 units. Prices range from 1,798,000 to 2,441,000 yen for gasoline models, and 2,284,000 to 2,815,000 yen for hybrid models.
