Platform Co-developed with Porsche Enhances Design and Performance

Audi has so far offered three types of BEVs: the compact "Q4 e-tron" and the flagship "Q8 e-tron" and "e-tron GT." The long-awaited mid-size BEV, the "SQ6 e-tron," is finally set to launch in Japan.
At the launch event held in Kyobashi, Tokyo, the "Q6 e-tron," developed as a next-generation electric SUV and long awaited for its arrival in Japan, was unveiled.
The body dimensions—a length of 4,770mm, width of 1,940mm, and height of 1,695mm, with a wheelbase of 2,895mm—ensure a spacious interior. The "PPE (Premium Platform Electric)," a BEV-exclusive platform co-developed by Audi and Porsche, is undoubtedly a major influence on the "Q6 e-tron's" exterior and performance.
The "Q6 e-tron" is the first series of production models based on the PPE, enabling a long wheelbase and short overhangs, which also contributes to forming the distinctive silhouette of Audi's Q model SUVs.
In terms of design, the three-dimensional single frame and side air intakes accentuate the front face, while the high-set digital daytime running lights create a distinctive expression.
The rear features a dynamically sculpted form that evokes a sporty atmosphere, with the connecting rear lamps providing a clean accent.
The interior has been designed from both aesthetic and ergonomic perspectives, featuring a three-dimensional, high-contrast design.
Notably, the trim known as the "soft wrap" extends seamlessly from the doors across the entire cockpit and down to the center console, creating an enveloping space for occupants. The seats share the same color scheme, with some incorporating recycled materials.
The absence of a central tunnel, a characteristic of BEVs, enhances comfort for the rear center seat. The trunk capacity is 526 liters, expanding to a maximum of 1,529 liters when the 3-way split rear seats are folded down.
Audi is committed to providing a more direct experience of the vehicle's digitalization, and the "Q6 e-tron's" digital interior comprises the MMI panoramic display and the MMI passenger display.
The 10.9-inch passenger display, located in front of the front passenger seat, allows for streaming, sharing navigation routes, and searching for charging stations, all while preventing driver distraction.
Furthermore, the "Q6 e-tron" is equipped with the world's first active digital light signature, offering up to eight lighting patterns for both the front and rear.
It also functions as a communication light, issuing warnings with specific light signatures when occupants exit the vehicle or when obstacles are detected ahead. Dedicated signatures (warning symbols) that correspond to the surrounding conditions can alert other road users and pedestrians, contributing to safety.
Additionally, an augmented reality (AR) head-up display is available as an option.
In terms of performance, highly efficient electric motors and newly developed lithium-ion batteries contribute to both performance and extended range.
The rear-wheel-drive "Q6 e-tron" delivers a system output of 185 kW and a maximum torque of 450 Nm. It achieves 0-100 km/h in 7.0 seconds, with a maximum range of 569 km thanks to its 83 kWh battery.
The all-wheel-drive "Q6 e-tron quattro" boasts a system output of 285 kW and a maximum torque of 560 Nm, with an increased battery capacity of 100 kWh. The 0-100 km/h acceleration is reduced to 5.9 seconds, and the maximum range extends to 644 km.
The sporty "SQ6 e-tron" variant offers a system output of up to 360 kW, or 380 kW with launch control, and a torque of 580 Nm, matching the quattro. It is all-wheel-drive, accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 230 km/h. This model also features a 100 kWh battery, providing a maximum range of 672 km, suitable for long drives.
Pricing is set at 8.39 million yen for the "Q6 e-tron," 9.98 million yen for the "Q6 e-tron quattro," and 13.20 million yen for the "SQ6 e-tron."
Audi is also offering two limited-edition "Edition One" models to commemorate the launch of the "Q6 e-tron" series. Based on the "Q6 e-tron quattro," these models feature the S line package and special equipment. The names are inspired by the body colors: "grey" is limited to 100 units priced at 12.38 million yen, and "blue" is limited to 30 units priced at 12.53 million yen.
