Adopting Peugeot's Latest Design Language

The 5008, which transformed from a minivan to an SUV in 2016, has received a minor facelift. It retains its independent 7-seat configuration and minivan-level utility while incorporating new design elements.
The exterior features a frameless front grille that rises vertically. It integrates with the headlights and bumper, creating a design that appears to melt into the body. The LED daytime running lights feature saber-like fangs, a design cue of the new generation Peugeot, as an accent. The higher-grade "GT" model is equipped with full LED headlights.
The rear is equipped with 3D LED taillights that glow red, inspired by a lion's claw marks, set within a black band that spans the width of the body. When the turn signals are activated, sequential indicators flow, adding a sense of depth and improving visibility.
The interior continues to feature the "i-Cockpit," characterized by a compact driving position and a small steering wheel that allows for minimal steering wheel movement. The newly designed seats firmly support the core and lower back, contributing to a comfortable drive.
The independent 7-seat configuration remains. As each seat is independent, various seating arrangements are possible. The rear seats can be folded down, or the third row can be stowed flush with the floor. This allows for flexible space customization based on luggage, passenger count, or activities.
Additionally, a hands-free electric tailgate that automatically opens and closes when you move your foot under the rear bumper has been added.
Inside, there is also a storage space below the center console, featuring a wireless charging area for smartphones. USB ports are provided: one in the center console and two for the rear seats.
The safety equipment includes advanced driver-assistance systems comparable to those in Peugeot's flagship model, the 508. Features such as Active Safety Brake and Active Cruise Control are incorporated.
Two powertrain options are available: a 2.0-liter diesel turbo engine, "BlueHDi," producing a maximum output of 130kW (177ps) and a maximum torque of 400Nm, and a 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine with 133kW (180ps) and 250Nm. Both are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The body is available in five colors. Pricing starts at 4.6 million yen for the Allure, the entry-grade model equipped with the "BlueHDi" diesel turbo engine. The gasoline turbo GT is priced at 4,672,000 yen, and the high-grade GT BlueHDi is 5,016,000 yen.
