Cadillac Unveils the New Escalade

On February 10, Cadillac announced the new full-size SUV, the Escalade. The new model's features include industry-first curved OLED screen technology, the "Super Cruise" hands-free driver assistance system, and a bold interior and exterior design. Sales are scheduled to begin in North America in the third quarter of this year.

Powertrain Options: 6.2-liter V8 and 3.0-liter Turbo Diesel

The new Escalade's "Curved OLED Display" exceeds 38 inches diagonally, boasts twice the resolution of a 4K television, and is paper-thin.
The screen, curved to improve driver visibility, consists of three displays: a 7.2-inch driver information center with touch controls, a 14.2-inch cluster display behind the steering wheel, and a 16.9-inch infotainment screen to the driver's right. It is bright, glare-free, and hoodless.
The screen can display features such as the "Augmented Reality Navigation System" with live street view and turn-by-turn directions, "Surround Vision" captured by four external cameras, and "Night Vision" using infrared.
In terms of driver assistance, it features the first "Super Cruise" system in a full-size SUV. Utilizing LiDAR, high-precision GPS, an advanced driver attention system, and a network of cameras and radar, it enables hands-free driving on over 322,000 km of highways in the U.S. and Canada.
The exterior retains the iconic vertical daytime running lights while adding new horizontal headlamps to emphasize width and power. The rear continues with the vertically elongated 3D layered design of the taillights, and 22-inch wheels are standard.
The interior offers a more spacious cabin due to an extended wheelbase. Compared to the previous generation, third-row legroom has increased by 40%, and luggage space behind the third row has expanded by 68%.
In addition to the advanced OLED display, the AKG audio system delivers 360-degree immersive Studio 3D Surround sound, Conversation Enhancement to aid communication between front and rear passengers, and Navigation-driven audio rendering that brings navigation announcements closer to the driver as a turn approaches, among many other industry-first features.
The powertrain options include a 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 420 hp (313 kW) and 623 Nm of torque, and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine with the same torque output. Both are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Steve Carlisle, President of Cadillac, commented, "The new Escalade leads the way into a new era of mobility with comprehensive upgrades that transform the driving experience. The Escalade is not just an Escalade; it's a new experience and more."
