Mercedes-Benz Japan has announced the launch of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC Edition 100, a special edition model limited to 100 units worldwide, with 31 units allocated for Japan.

Maybach, a legendary marque born in 1921, lives on today as "Mercedes-Maybach." Its spirit endures, continuing to captivate with its unparalleled luxury.

To commemorate its 100th anniversary, the special edition "Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC Edition 100" has arrived, limited to 100 units globally, with 31 available in Japan.

The special edition features an exclusive two-tone paint scheme combining high-tech silver and nautical blue. The wheels are a specially designed 23-inch dark platinum dish-plate, complemented by chrome air intakes and a high-gloss chrome underbody, creating a refreshingly sophisticated and luxurious aesthetic.

Inside, crystal white Nappa leather seats, a matching headliner, and high-gloss black flowing lines piano lacquer wood trim create an interior that embodies the distinctive beauty and opulence of Mercedes-Maybach.

The powertrain is a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine delivering 410 kW (558 hp) and 730 Nm of torque. An integrated starter-generator (ISG) provides an additional instantaneous boost of 16 kW (22 hp) and 250 Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Mercedes-Benz Japan also announced the resumption of orders for the "Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC," the base model for this special edition, which had been suspended due to parts supply shortages.

The special edition "Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC Edition 100" is limited to 100 units worldwide, with only 31 available in Japan. Sales have already commenced. The steering wheel is on the left side only, and the price is ¥35.7 million. The "Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC," for which orders have resumed, is priced at ¥28.27 million. Deliveries for both are scheduled for August 2022.
