The previous generation Defender is reborn! A limited edition of only 25 vehicles worldwide, clad in camouflage.
Land Rover Classic has announced the "Defender Works V8 Trophy II," finished in a camouflage pattern. It will be released as a limited edition of 25 vehicles worldwide.
A special model, disassembled and reassembled by hand by dedicated specialists.
The Defender has traversed every terrain across the globe. While the model was reborn with a full model change in 2019, after 71 years, Land Rover Classic has introduced a limited edition based on the classic model.
The base is the Defender produced from 2012 to 2016. It is powered by a 5-liter V8 engine producing 405ps and 515Nm of torque, driving all four wheels through an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. Furthermore, the brakes and steering have been improved, and dedicated Land Rover Classic specialists have disassembled and reassembled it by hand to create this special model.
The first thing that catches the eye on the "Defender Works V8 Trophy II" is its unique camouflage pattern. The body features a distinctive camouflage design showcasing 23 locations, including legendary races Land Rover has participated in, such as the "Camel Trophy" and "First Overland," renowned as the world's toughest adventure races, as well as places like South Africa, Laos, and Peru. Playfully, several silhouettes of Land Rover's iconic form are also hidden within the pattern.
The body color is Fuji White, with the roof, rivets, and wheels all unified in black. The exterior features various additions for all-terrain performance, including a protective A-frame with an integrated winch in front of the bespoke front grille. The black bonnet has a satin finish to reduce glare in bright conditions, and a 1.27-meter full-width LED light bar enhances visibility during all-terrain driving at night.
It achieves a wading depth of 500mm and further enhances body protection with rear recovery points, rock sliders, and external roll bars. Rear ladders are included for loading and unloading onto the Expedition Roof Rack in black, along with "TROPHY" badges and mud flaps with white logo marks, adding subtle accents.
The interior is equipped with Recaro sports seats upholstered in black and white two-tone Windsor leather with contrast stitching. The infotainment system is also the latest, integrating navigation and connectivity for mobile devices.
The interior is finished with a bespoke Land Rover Trophy clock by British watchmaker Elliot Brown centrally placed on the dashboard. This clock reflects the exterior camouflage and will also be sold as a limited edition watch.
Body types and production numbers include 10 units each of the "90" and "110" station wagons, and for the first time as a Trophy model, 5 units of the "110" double-cab pickup.
Purchasers will also be invited to a three-day Land Rover Trophy competition, where they can participate in point-based off-road challenges.
Pricing starts at £225,000 (approximately ¥36.7 million) in the UK for the "90." Additionally, Land Rover Classic plans to release genuine accessories in late 2022 for Defender owners who wish to customize their vehicles like the "Defender Works V8 Trophy II."
