A Special Edition GLC and GLC Coupe with Striking Black Accents
Mercedes-Benz Japan has introduced a special edition, the "GLC 220d 4MATIC Night Edition," for the mid-size SUV "GLC" and "GLC Coupe." Sales have begun with a limited production of 300 units in total.

Special Features Inside and Out, Not Available on Standard Models
The GLC and GLC Coupe, SUVs based on the C-Class that received a minor model change in October 2019 with an updated exterior and standard "MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience)" infotainment system, now feature a special edition with black accents.
Both exterior variants are available in two colors: Obsidian Black and Diamond White. Based on the AMG Styling Package, this special edition adopts the exclusive Night Package, featuring black accents on the front grille, front spoiler, window trim, and rear bumper, which are normally silver. The vehicle is finished with a sporty look, complemented by 19-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels painted in gloss black.
Furthermore, the standard Multibeam LED headlights, equipped with 84 LEDs per side, analyze ideal light distribution patterns 100 times per second using a multi-purpose camera and control unit, achieving finer and more precise illumination. This is said to reduce driver fatigue during night driving.
The interior also features special equipment: black seats made of ARTICO man-made leather, which are not available on standard models. The interior trim also uses black ash wood, creating a calm space unified in black and silver.
The SUV model is equipped with a panoramic sliding roof, while the Coupe features a glass sliding roof.

The powertrain for both is a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder diesel turbo engine, producing a maximum output of 134 kW (194 PS) and a maximum torque of 400 Nm, driving all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Sales numbers and pricing: The GLC in black is limited to 130 units and in white to 70 units, for a total of 200 units at ¥7.94 million. The GLC Coupe is limited to 65 units in black and 35 units in white, for a total of 100 units at ¥8.26 million.
