Maserati Unveils its First Hybrid SUV, the Levante Hybrid

Following the Ghibli Hybrid, Maserati has simultaneously unveiled the Levante Hybrid, an SUV representing the second phase of the brand's electrification strategy, at the Shanghai Motor Show and on the brand's website.

Sales Begin in Europe This June

The powertrain in the Levante Hybrid combines a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder twin-turbo engine producing a maximum output of 330 ps and 450 Nm of torque with a 48V mild-hybrid system comprising four elements: a BSG (Belt-driven Starter Generator), a battery, an e-booster, and a DC/DC converter. Power is sent to all four wheels via a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, accelerating the large SUV body—measuring 5,005mm long, 1,981mm wide, and 1,693mm high—to 100 km/h in 6 seconds, with a top speed of 240 km/h.
As a result, it delivers performance on par with the V6 gasoline engine model while offering superior fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions compared to the V6 diesel engine model. Furthermore, the engine sound is authentic, created by adjusting resonators without using amplifiers, allowing drivers to enjoy the signature Maserati 'sound' even in this hybrid model.
The exterior features the hybrid-exclusive cobalt blue accents on the triple side air vents, brake calipers, and the Saetta logo on the rear pillar. Also eye-catching are the Azzurro Astro metallic three-layer paint, boomerang-shaped taillights that pay homage to the 3200 GT, a body-colored rear spoiler, and 19-inch Zephyrus alloy wheels.
Inside, the same blue is used for the seat stitching. Other features include an 8.4-inch screen with enhanced resolution and graphics, and a 7-inch TFT display positioned between the large analog tachometer and speedometer.
In terms of driving dynamics, the Q4 intelligent AWD system with LSD (Limited Slip Differential) and variable torque adjustment, along with the torque vectoring system, ensures optimal traction in all driving conditions.
The suspension, featuring double wishbones at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear, is equipped with air suspension, allowing for a ground clearance variation of up to 75mm. The ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) are capable of speeds up to 145 km/h, and the vehicle also features the new generation multimedia system (MIA) and the always-connected Maserati Connect.
Sales begin in Europe this June. Pricing for Japan has not yet been determined.
