Exterior Redesigned with a Sharp, Dynamic Look

The E-Class is a core model for Mercedes-Benz, boasting over 14 million units sold worldwide. Since the W136/191 model introduced in 1946, it has consistently adopted innovative technologies ahead of its time, setting the benchmark for premium sedans globally. The previous generation E-Class, sold in Japan from 2016, was supported by many users, ranking fourth in imported car sales in 2017 and fifth the following year.
The exterior of the new E-Class has been completely redesigned for a sharp and dynamic impression. The headlights feature a slim, slightly upward-sloping design, common to the latest sporty Mercedes-Benz models. The radiator grille is a trapezoid that widens at the bottom, finished with chrome diamond-look elements. Additionally, two fins on the lower sides of the bumper enhance the sharp and dynamic appearance.

Now, the new E-Class displays arrows overlaid on a live view of the road ahead, making it more intuitive to determine which lane to take.

All new E-Class models come standard with Mercedes-Benz's latest driver assistance systems. A new feature warns occupants if an obstacle is approaching from behind when opening the door while stopped. For example, if a pedestrian, cyclist, or vehicle approaches at speeds above 2 km/h, a warning light on the exterior of the door mirror will turn red, or an audible and visual alert will be issued when the occupant reaches for the door handle.

Eight Powertrain Options

The "E 200 Sport" and "E 200 4MATIC Sport" models are equipped with a powertrain that achieves efficiency, comfort, and high performance simultaneously, utilizing new technologies such as the 1.5-liter inline 4-cylinder turbo engine "M264," an integrated starter-generator (BSG), and a 48V mild hybrid system.
Mercedes-Benz E 200 Station Wagon Sport
The "M264" engine alone produces a maximum output of 184 hp (135 kW) and a peak torque of 280 Nm. Furthermore, the BSG, which acts as both a starter and generator via a belt connected to the crankshaft, and the 48V electrical system, store electricity generated through regenerative braking in a approximately 1 kWh lithium-ion battery. This system provides smooth engine starts, seamless and powerful acceleration, and quick gear shifts by delivering up to 160 Nm of torque assist when needed, enhancing not only fuel efficiency but also the overall performance of the powertrain.

Additionally, the water pump is now electric, allowing for optimal adjustment of cooling capacity as needed, further improving efficiency.

The "E 300 Sport" features a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine from the "M264" series, differing from the E 200's displacement. It incorporates a twin-scroll turbocharger and the variable valve lift system "CAMTRONIC," enabling smooth acceleration across a wide range of engine speeds.
Mercedes-Benz E 200 Station Wagon Sport

The "E 450 4MATIC Exclusive" is newly equipped with the compact 3-liter inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine "M256," along with new technologies such as an integrated starter-generator (ISG) and a 48V mild hybrid system, achieving a simultaneous improvement in efficiency, comfort, and performance.

The engine alone produces a maximum output of 367 hp (270 kW) and a peak torque of 500 Nm. Additionally, the ISG, an electric motor positioned between the engine and transmission with a maximum output of 22 hp (16 kW) and 250 Nm of torque, works with the 48V electrical system to generate electricity through regenerative braking, charging a approximately 1 kWh lithium-ion battery.

At low engine speeds, this electrical power is used to provide torque assist, resulting in high efficiency and powerful acceleration. The starter, now a higher-output electric motor, suppresses vibration during engine start-up and improves the comfort of restarts after idling.

Furthermore, this motor is also used during gear shifts, assisting to minimize the time it takes for the engine to reach its ideal RPM range. This reduces gear shift times, enabling smoother shifts with minimal lag.
Mercedes-Benz E 220 d 4MATIC All-Terrain

The "E 220 d Sport" is powered by a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder clean diesel turbo engine producing a maximum output of 194 hp (143 kW) and a peak torque of 400 Nm.

The "E 350 de Sport" combines the clean diesel turbo engine from the "E 220 d Sport" with a motor producing 122 hp (90 kW) and 440 Nm of torque. The combined system output is 306 hp (225 kW) with 700 Nm of torque, delivering exceptionally powerful and smooth acceleration. The electric motor alone provides a driving range of up to 50 km. This is the only passenger car in Japan to combine clean diesel and plug-in hybrid technology.

The "E 350 e Sport" is equipped with the 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder turbo engine "M274," producing 211 hp (155 kW) and 350 Nm of torque.
