Mercedes-Benz Japan has launched the new two-door "CLE Coupe." The model introduced in Japan is the "CLE 200 Sports Coupe" in a single trim.
Sports Seats in Exclusive Design Fitted as Standard
The new generation two-door "CLE Coupe," inheriting the tradition and history of coupes built by Mercedes-Benz, has arrived in Japan. With the introduction of this model, the previous C-Class Coupe and E-Class Coupe will be discontinued. Essentially, the two coupes have been integrated into the CLE Coupe.
The body measures 4,850mm in length, 1,860mm in width, and 1,420mm in height, featuring the long wheelbase, short overhangs, and long bonnet characteristic of Mercedes-Benz's two-door coupes. The "CLE 200 Coupe Sport" introduced this time comes standard with the AMG Line Exterior.
The exterior, embodying Mercedes' design philosophy of "Sensual Purity," features a wide A-shaped front grille with a three-dimensional star pattern and slim full-LED headlights.
The rear design enhances a sense of quality and presence with powerfully flared fenders and slim two-piece taillights seamlessly connected by dark red trim.
The interior also comes standard with the AMG Line Interior. Sporty and high-quality elements are incorporated, such as the multifunction steering wheel with its three twin spokes and flat-bottom design, and the ARTICO dashboard.
The front seats feature a specially developed sporty design. In addition to the standard ARTICO leather (black), four optional genuine leather interior colors are available.
The cockpit features two high-resolution displays, 12.3-inch and 11.9-inch, arranged ergonomically. To emphasize the sporty feel with a driver-centric focus, the 11.9-inch display is tilted 6 degrees towards the driver's seat.
The infotainment system is equipped with the third generation of MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience), which boasts enhanced learning capabilities. Voice assistance, activated by saying "Hi, Mercedes," and AR (Augmented Reality) navigation enhance user convenience.
The powertrain features a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine (M254) producing a maximum output of 150 kW (204 PS) and peak torque of 320 Nm. The second-generation mild hybrid system "ISG," located between the engine and transmission, provides an electric boost of up to 17 kW (23 PS) and 205 Nm, contributing to smooth and powerful acceleration.
The transmission is the "9G-TRONIC." The suspension includes standard sports suspension with a selective damping system that can instantly increase damping force during hard cornering, as well as an optional "Dynamic Body Control Suspension" with a continuously variable damping system.
The safety equipment includes the latest driver assistance systems found in the S-Class as standard. Additionally, digital lights with a resolution exceeding one million pixels per side are standard, contributing to safe driving.
The "CLE 200 Sports Coupe" is available in nine body colors. The price is 8.5 million yen.
