The Interactive Infotainment System 'MBUX' Also Standard
First introduced to Japan in 1998 as the first European minivan, the V-Class underwent a full model change to its third generation in 2015. Further refinements were made in 2019 through a minor change that enhanced its exterior and comfort.
This update includes the standard fitment of the 'Radar Safety Package,' an advanced driver-assistance system. This package features 'Active Brake Assist,' which detects preceding vehicles via radar to reduce the risk of rear-end collisions, and 'Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC,' which automatically maintains an optimal distance to the vehicle ahead and slows down to a stop if it stops.
Furthermore, the interactive infotainment system 'MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience)' has also been added as standard. It features a 10.25-inch wide screen centrally located on the dashboard and a natural language voice recognition function.
'MBUX' is activated by the keyword 'Hey, Mercedes.' Users can access a variety of functions, including destination input, phone calls, music selection, and control of heaters and lighting, through voice commands.
The powertrain is exclusively a 2.2-liter inline four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, with three grades available. Pricing starts at 7.81 million yen for the V220d, 8.05 million yen for the V220d AVANTGARDE LONG, and 8.31 million yen for the V220d AVANTGARDE EXTRA-LONG.
