Q2 Adds Diesel Engine TDI Model
Audi Japan has added a diesel engine TDI model to its compact SUV, the "Q2." It has also made some changes to the equipment and specifications and commenced sales.
TDI Model Also Updated with Sporty Design
The Q2, the most compact in Audi's SUV Q series, now includes a diesel engine model.
Following the already redesigned TFSI model, the TDI model has also been updated. The front of the bonnet now features three-part slits, evoking the image of the classic "Audi Sport Quattro," along with an octagonal single-frame grille that is thinner than before. It also adopts sharper LED headlights, a front bumper with enlarged openings, and a powerful-looking rear bumper incorporating a pentagonal motif.
Furthermore, to accentuate the individuality of the grades, the higher-grade S line now features underguards, wheel arch extensions, and side sills in the same color as the body. Additionally, for the S line, the Matrix LED headlights with dynamic turn indicators are now available as an option.
The interior also sees design changes to the air vents and shift lever. The 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit liquid crystal display is integrated into the instrument panel.
As a driver assistance system, the Pre Sense Front is standard on all models. Other features, such as adaptive cruise assist, are available as options.
The powertrain consists of a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder turbo diesel engine, producing a maximum output of 110 kW (150 ps) and a maximum torque of 250 Nm. It employs a cylinder deactivation system that operates in two-cylinder mode under low load, and power is sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed S tronic transmission.
The price for the Q2 TDI model starts at 4.18 million yen for the entry-grade "Advanced" and 4.55 million yen for the sporty "S line." The 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder gasoline turbo TFSI is priced at 4.08 million yen for the "Advanced" and 4.45 million yen for the "S line."
