Full Model Change for the Vezel: World Premiere Announced
Honda has fully redesigned its SUV, the Vezel, and held a world premiere online.
With Coupe-Like Proportions
The new Vezel, which had its world premiere online. It has been revamped with the concept of "AMP UP YOUR LIFE," designed to enhance the enjoyment of daily life.
The exterior features coupe-like proportions, with a "sleek & long cabin" designed to provide a refreshing view from every seat. The horizontal design theme is complemented by a body-colored grille at the front that integrates seamlessly with the body. The rear design aims to balance beauty and functionality, incorporating a user-friendly tailgate opening and naturally integrating the handle position into the styling.
The interior is structured based on HMI (Human-Machine Interface) principles, reducing natural movement and arranging controls along the natural flow of operation to facilitate "elegant movements" for the driver and passengers. Additionally, sensory features such as a panoramic roof and newly designed "gentle breeze outlets" that provide a pleasant airflow have been added.
The powertrain lineup includes two options: a 1.5-liter CVT gasoline model and a hybrid model called "e:HEV." The "e:HEV" offers three driving modes, and allows selection of different deceleration levels when the accelerator is released in D range, B range, and with the deceleration selector.
The 4WD model is equipped with "Real-Time AWD" for stable driving even in adverse weather or on snowy roads. Particularly when combined with the "e:HEV," the quick and linear torque delivery characteristic of motor drive, along with the "Real-Time AWD" system, achieves a unique sense of stability.
The vehicle is equipped with the "Honda CONNECT" in-car communication module, utilizing next-generation connected technology. It features the "Automatic Map Update Service," which automatically updates to the latest maps, a first for Honda. Additionally, features such as "Honda Digital Key," which allows the use of a smartphone as a key, and "In-Car Wi-Fi," which enables internet connectivity by purchasing data capacity within the vehicle, are also available.
Safety features have also been enhanced with the "Honda SENSING" advanced safety and driver-assist system. By adopting a front wide-view camera and a high-speed image processing chip, the Adaptive Cruise Control now includes a Traffic Jam Follow function. Other new additions include a false start suppression function for rearward acceleration, a Collision Mitigation Brake System for low-speed impacts, and Auto High Beam.
The Honda Vezel is scheduled for release in April 2021.
