Audi A8 Receives Major Update
Audi has unveiled the new A8, its flagship model in the luxury segment, which has undergone a significant update.

The Audi A8 is the flagship model in the luxury sedan segment, introduced in 1994 as the successor to the Audi V8. The fourth generation, unveiled in 2017, represents a significant evolution in power, style, and equipment.
The new body measures 5,190mm in length, 1,950mm in width, and 1,470mm in height. While the size changes are minimal, the exterior's prestige has been further enhanced. The base of the Singleframe grille is now wider, with enlarged chrome angles extending from bottom to top, creating an impressive grille. The headlights feature digital matrix LED technology with 1.3 million micro-mirrors, said to create a carpet of light akin to a video projector.
The side air intakes have a more upright design, giving a fresh impression similar to the headlights. The side view is characterized by a flat roofline, while the rear features customizable OLED technology taillights and sporty, quad round tailpipes. In addition to the standard specification, Chrome exterior and S line packages are also available. There are 11 exterior colors in total, with five matte finishes to choose from.
The spacious interior, reminiscent of a lounge, features relaxation seats in the A8 L and sustainable Dinamica microfiber material used for the door panels. The rear seats are equipped with a dedicated 10.1-inch display.
The control system includes voice control that responds to "Hey Audi!" and MMI Navigation plus with Audi connect online services. A Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System, featuring a 1,920-watt amplifier driving 23 speakers and tweeters in 3D, is also installed.
In terms of driver assistance, approximately 40 systems are available, with three optional packages: "Park," "City," and "Tour."
The powertrain lineup offers a wide range of choices. It includes a 3.0-liter V6 TFSI (340ps, 286ps), a V6 TDI (286ps), a V6 TFSI e plug-in hybrid drive system (462ps) combining a V6 TFSI with an electric motor, and a 4.0 TFSI (460ps, 571ps).
Another variation is the Audi A8 L Horch, the top version for the Chinese market. With a length of 5.45 meters, it is 13cm longer than the A8 L. The interior emphasizes its exclusive character with diamond-pattern quilting, embossed seat cushion logos, and deep-pile floor mats in the rear space.
Furthermore, the armored version of the A8 has been further enhanced. The A8 L Security, specifically designed to meet high security requirements, is equipped with a twin-turbo V8 engine producing 420 kW (571 ps). It features mild-hybrid technology (MHEV) with a 48-volt main power system.
