General Motors Japan has announced the refreshed Cadillac SUV, the XT5. Sales will begin on Wednesday, January 1, 2020.

Cadillac's XT5 has undergone a minor refresh. Two variants will be available: the elegant "Premium" and the sporty "Platinum Sport."

While the "Premium" features a luxurious interior and intelligent AWD, the "Platinum Sport" boasts dark color accents throughout, along with sporty exclusive features like aluminum sport pedals and paddle shifters. It also incorporates sport-tuned AWD and active damping suspension, promising an aggressive driving experience.

Both models are powered by the same new 3.6-liter V6 engine found in the XT6, producing a maximum output of 231kW (314ps) and peak torque of 368Nm (37.5kgm). This is paired with a newly developed 9-speed automatic transmission designed to enhance V6 engine efficiency.

Inside the cabin, a high eye-point offers an expansive view of the surroundings. The UltraView panoramic power sunroof, extending over the heads of all occupants, is standard, creating a sense of openness. A Bose Performance Series sound system with 14 speakers has also been installed, delivering specially tuned audio.

Additionally, comfort features include a tri-zone climate control system with an ionizer to optimize the temperature for each seat, and heated seats.

The Premium is available in four body colors, while the Platinum Sport comes in five. Prices are ¥6,500,000 for the Premium and ¥7,850,000 for the Platinum Sport.
