Engineered for Effortless Driving and Reduced Fatigue on Any Road Worldwide

The Land Cruiser was born in August 1951 as the Toyota BJ, a four-wheel-drive vehicle equipped with a powerful engine. Since then, through each generation, approximately 10.4 million units have been sold in 170 countries and regions worldwide, with over 300,000 units sold annually, up to 2021, the 70th anniversary of the Land Cruiser's birth. To meet user expectations for a "car that can go anywhere and return alive," Toyota has continuously refined and evolved its reliability, durability, and off-road capabilities.
The newly redesigned "300" series Land Cruiser is the flagship station wagon model, succeeding the "200" series that debuted in 2007.
(1) The core Land Cruiser attributes of "reliability, durability, and off-road capability" are inherited and evolved.
(2) Effortless driving and reduced fatigue on any road worldwide are realized.
These were the two development objectives.

Adoption of New GA-F Platform and Powertrains

The new vehicle body adopts the TNGA "GA-F" platform. While vehicle dimensions such as overall length, width, and wheelbase, as well as approach and departure angles, are carried over from the previous model, the frame itself has been newly designed, achieving both lighter weight (-200kg) and increased rigidity.
Based on this inherent excellence, the vehicle has been refined through real-world driving by evaluation members, including skilled in-house test drivers and Dakar Rally participants, referred to as "master craftsmen." This process has resulted in a vehicle that is easy to drive and reduces fatigue on both on-road and off-road conditions.
Furthermore, to enhance its traditional off-road prowess, improvements have been made to fundamental suspension performance (wheel articulation: resistance to tire lift), increased ground contact through the adoption of E-KDSS (Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System), the integration of a Multi-Terrain Monitor for intuitive visualization of obstacles from the driver's perspective, and the Multi-Terrain Select system, which automatically selects driving modes based on road surface conditions.
The powertrains feature a newly developed 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo gasoline engine producing 305kW (415ps) / 650Nm, and a 3.3-liter V6 twin-turbo diesel engine producing 227kW (309ps) / 700Nm. In addition to achieving class-leading power and drivability surpassing the previous V8 engines, the adoption of the newly developed Direct Shift-10AT (10-speed automatic transmission) and the reduction in body weight are expected to reduce annual CO2 emissions during vehicle use by approximately 10% across all global units compared to the previous model (internal estimate).

Exterior and Interior Pursuing Functional Beauty, and Class-Leading Advanced Safety Performance

The new exterior inherits the Land Cruiser's heritage, pursuing functional beauty with features such as lamp positioning and bumper design that minimize damage during off-road driving. The interior adopts a horizontal instrument panel for easy perception of the vehicle's posture even on rough terrain. Switches are laid out intuitively by function, and their design considers operability through shape and color, enhancing comfort.
For advanced safety performance, the latest "Toyota Safety Sense" preventive safety package is adopted. This includes Pre-Collision Safety, which detects pedestrians (day/night) and cyclists (day) to help avoid or mitigate collisions, with added functions for detecting oncoming straight-moving vehicles at intersections and pedestrians crossing when turning right or left, and Emergency Steering Assist, which supports steering and lane departure prevention in response to evasive steering by the driver. Additionally, Parking Support Brake has been newly adopted to recognize obstacles in front and behind the vehicle in parking lots, as well as approaching vehicles and pedestrians when reversing, contributing to accident prevention.
The new Land Cruiser is scheduled to be released in various regions around the world starting this summer.
