Edition 55 Celebrates AMG's 55th Anniversary, Magno Hero Edition Features Matte Paint

Since its debut in 1979 as a luxury cross-country vehicle, the G-Class has evolved while retaining its fundamental styling and robust body, incorporating the latest powertrains and equipment. It's still fresh in our memory that a significant overhaul, equivalent to a full model change, was implemented in June 2018.

The G-Class lineup now welcomes two special edition models: the "AMG G63 Edition 55," commemorating AMG's 55th anniversary, and the "AMG G63 Magno Hero Edition," featuring a new matte paint body color developed in Germany.
Both models are based on the "AMG G63," which incorporates technology honed by AMG in motorsport. The power unit is a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, fully developed in-house by Mercedes-AMG, producing a maximum output of 430 kW (585 hp) and peak torque of 850 Nm.
Furthermore, it is the top-performance model within the G-Class range, equipped with AMG-enhanced brakes and AMG-specific suspension as exclusive features for the "AMG G63."
The "AMG G63 Edition 55" is available in Obsidian Black and Opalis White, with 100 units of each. Obsidian Black accents on the side mirrors and spare wheel cover create a chic exterior, complemented by 22-inch AMG cross-spoke alloy wheels and special decals.
The interior features an AMG Performance steering wheel with an Edition 55-exclusive logo, enhancing the sense of exclusivity. Additionally, the "AMG Matte Carbon Interior Trim" is standard, incorporating carbon elements throughout the trim for a sporty ambiance.
The "AMG G63 Magno Hero Edition," on the other hand, is offered in three matte paint colors: Green Hell Magno, Magno Opalis White, and Magno Copper Orange. Accents in Magno Night Black adorn the bumpers, roof, door mirrors, and spare wheel cover. The three-pointed star and model badges are finished in black, while the headlights and turn signals feature a smoked black treatment, creating a distinctively special exterior.
The interior features an AMG Performance steering wheel combining carbon and Dinamica. The interior leather is accented with stitching that matches the body color.
Both special edition models enhance comfort with front seats equipped with seat ventilators to prevent stuffiness and a relaxation function.
For the "Edition 55," 60 units with left-hand drive and 40 with right-hand drive are available in Black. The Opalis White, an optional upgrade, includes 60 left-hand drive and 40 right-hand drive units, totaling 200 units, priced at 27.5 million yen.
The "Magno Hero Edition" is limited to a total of 300 units, with 50 units in Green Hell Magno, 100 in Magno Copper Orange, and 75 in Magno Opalis White for left-hand drive models. Right-hand drive models are exclusively Magno Opalis White, with 75 units available, priced at 28.6 million yen.
Reservations are now being accepted through the nationwide Mercedes-Benz authorized dealer network. Deliveries for the "Edition 55" began on July 28th, with the "Magno Hero Edition" scheduled to commence sequentially from October.
